GymMaple is a gym workout tracker and nutrition app for people who lift weights in Canada and the United States. It logs every set, builds a weekly training plan from a few questions, times the rest between sets, and tracks calories, protein and water. It costs $9.99 once after a 7-day free trial — there is no subscription.
Why GymMaple exists
Most workout apps charge a monthly fee to keep using your own training history, or fill the screen with ads and upsells. GymMaple takes the opposite approach: one price, once, and an interface designed to be used with one hand between two sets.
Every number it shows is there to answer one question at the gym: what should I lift right now, and did I beat last time?
How GymMaple calculates your targets
- Calorie targets start from the Mifflin-St Jeor equation, adjusted for your activity level and goal (lose fat, maintain or build muscle). You can override any target.
- Protein defaults to 1.8 g per kg of body weight, within the 1.6–2.2 g/kg range supported by research on muscle growth.
- Estimated one-rep maxes use the Epley formula and are only shown for sets of 12 reps or fewer, where the estimate is meaningful.
- Water targets scale with body weight (about 35 ml per kg).
